But it's a winner. Great screen, speakers,keyboard,webcam,very easy to set up. Windows 7 is a snap to use. (I've been using Vista, before that XP Pro and XP.)The laptop comes with 4gb of ram. I ordered two 4gb. to increase the ram to 8gb. I found the upgrade here on Amazon for only $29. That's cheap enough. It has good specs and is attractive. However, a computer is more than a pretty object.After only a few days, the down-arrow key became hard to push. It felt and sounded like it was hitting something under the keyboard. I was able to get a new computer replacement which worked well for 2 weeks, but now the cooling fan makes a rattling noise when it kicks up to high speed, probably due to a bad bearing. This indicates a potential failure that could destroy the CPU and other parts through overheating. Two failures on 2 computers in a month indicates cheap parts and short life. Acer (Asus) computers have suffered from a reputation of poor quality and poor quality control. Apparently they haven't solved all their problems. I cannot recommend buying this product when there are so many other more reliable laptops available. |
